What kind of tartan is Prince Charles wearing?
In the film 'The Queen' starring Helen Mirren, in one of the scenes the guy playing Charles is wearing a kilt and the tartan looked like my family tartan (see my 360 page) it'd be interesting to know if it actually was. There is no connection with my family and the Royal family, so Prince Charles would never have worn it in real life.

Didn't see the movie, so can't say, but Charlie is entitled to wear Stewart tartans - the Royal Stewart is the familiar red based pattern, but what he more often wears is the muted grey and green of the Hunting Stewart. As to what was worn in the movie, check it out with the costume designers or see if you can get a color still shot from the movie to compare with your family tartan. Hollywood is not always known for its accuracy.

Yeah I noticed it too, its definitely not the Royal Stewart Tartan that they normally wear. You can view Tartans on the web xx

Prince Charles has the right to wear the Royal Stewart, The Lord of the Isles and other related tartans. There are only 2 persons with the right to the Lord of the Isles and that is the Chief of Clan Donald and the Prince of Wales (one of his titles is the Lord of the Isles).
