Melissa Etheridge?

I love her also and was happy when she won and Academy Award this year for her song in Al Gore's documentary. My favorite song by Etheridge would have to be "I'm the Only One ".

Actually, I like a lot of her songs that was the first that came to mind. Oh and I'm not a lesbian.

To be quite honest, I've never really jumped on the Etheridge bandwagon. I'm bisexual, but she's just never hit that big on my radar- I grooved to "Come To My Window" when it made it onto the radio, and I've admired her strength through breast cancer and everything, but I just somehow never felt the urge to buy her albums.

Not too long ago, though, I heard her song "Enough of Me" to a Youtube fanvideo for the movie "Stage Beauty", and I absolutely fell in love . . . that has got to be my favorite song right now- so emotional, such beautiful lyrics, everything.

Both "You can sleep while I drive" and "This is not goodbye" are nice, but neither call out to me that much, sadly. They're pretty, but not my style, I suppose.

And nah, I don't think it's stereotypical for you to like her music. Maybe if you were loving her only because she was lesbian, but it doesn't seem that way.

I LOVE HER MUSIC.... very good music.. my favorite song from her is, "Come to my window", and I haven't heard the breast cancer song yet.. i don't think it's stereotypical that a lesbian should like her music...

I LOVE her music. I've met her personally. She is from Leavenworth Kansas, and when she went back there to dedicate an organ to the arts council, I got to meet her. She's awesome, and so nice.

That song, "This Is Not Goodbye", I played that at my grandmother's funeral. It's such a beautiful song, and everytime I hear it, I cry. I'm not sure which one is my favorite though.

I used to be a big fan, but haven't really listened to her newer stuff.

Her's was the first concert I went to see. Was 16 and my mom and dad took me. Was her "Yes I am tour" was also my way of breaking it to my mom.

Music is music. Some lesbians don't like her music, such as my wife.

My straight brother first introduced me to her music with her very first self-titled album back in 1988.

My sister-in-law and I attended her concerts together and I got to see her perform at RFK stadium in 2000 for the Millennium March On Washington. 60,000 fans in silent awe while she began a song we all knew by heart...60,000 voices in chorus finishing the song for her when the emotion of the song became too much for her to continue.

For me "Scarecrow" will always hold a special place in my heart.

yes, it does make me emotional, and i'm straight. it's not stereotypical for you to like her music at all- i have a friend who's bi, and she really doesn't like her music, and i have friends who are gay and hate all the "stereotypical gay" artists out there. i don't think their sexualities really come into play when you hear music- you're just hearing the melodies and making a yes/no decision.
