I dont know whether this was a ghost or not, but I'll narrate what happened so you may draw your own conclusions...
Way back in 2002, I was backpacking around India and went to an all-favorite location of backpackers- Goa where I met a group from another country which was on way for a day to a nearby city called Karwar, which they said, had a wonderful beach. Curious, I went joined the group but found that place rather boring and the beach sealed off by the Indian military for some reasons.
I explored alone some areas nearby and took an evening bus back to Goa. As usual, I was carrying some cans of an Indian beer and would drink and smoke in buses. For this, I boarded a bus that would halt frequently since passengers are less fussy about drink and smoke.
At some point, young woman, who was rather slim and had long hair and smelt of soap fragrance boarded the bus and took a seat beside me. We did not have a conversation since people in those parts of the world are shy of foreign tourists. And I was stinking like a brewery and Phillip Morris factory, plus sweat for sure.
Aching for a smoke, I politely asked her if I could light up a cigarette and she replied in fluent English...yes you can. Amazed...we continued to speak for some time, discussing whether I like India and Goa etc. She was shy, which was understandable.
After an hour or so, the bus halted at one location where she and a few other people got off. Before that, I told her I would mail a postcard for her from my hometown and she offered her postal address and telephone, written on a part of my cigarette carton.
During ALL this talk and travel, I never had the opportunity to see her face, since the bus was dark and had no interior lights- like all economy ones and, it was traveling through a rural area of India, where street lights are non-existant.
Back in the cheapo hotel room where I was living, I noted the address she had given me was in Bombay (now Mumbai).
A month or so later, I went to Bombay to take my flight out of India. I had to wait for a day due to some confusion between me and the airline.
With nothing to do in the hotel room and too scared to venture out, I happened to find that cigarette box piece where she had written her name and address. I decided to try and call the number she'd given- purely out of curiosity and sheer boredom.
I called from the hotel reception, and was replied by some woman on the other end. I asked for the name of that "friend" I had met that evening on the bus and there was some awkward silence on the other side. The woman asked me to hold on and a rather rude sounding man asked in a gruff voice, what I wanted.
Knowing that Indian culture is very conservative and not wanting to get my unknown friend into trouble, I simply explained that I had met her on that bus and exchanged addresses. That I was leaving for my country and wanted to just say " Hi". The man on the other side softened up and said he'd like to meet me urgently. I agreed, because he sounded rather distressed.
I met him in my hotel lobby with his wife...who it seems had taken my call. They were very cordial and we had a drink togather and he asked me...where and how did I meet this unknown friend in the bus. I narrated the whole story again, with whatever detail I could remember as they listened with rapt attention.
After some minutes of awkward silence, during which the woman was sobbing- much to my confusion, apprehension and surprise. Was this going to be some horrible end to my dream holiday in India???
No..it wasnt. The couple prepared to leave and looked rather sad. I asked them if everything was OK....and they replied that the woman I had claimed to have met on the bus, had died about 4 months ago after being hit by one, while crossing the road somewhere in Goa.
The rest of the evening I couldnt sleep and spent it in the coffee shop of my hotel.
I still retain that piece of cigarette box with the handwriting and its well preserved.
Was this a ghost? Or mistaken identity? Or somebody playing a trick? ...
I really dont know. But, I've never seen any other ghosts all my life.

I never seen a ghost before but I have had 2
Experiences to make me believe ghost are real.
1st time -
Curtain opened on its own about 3 feet and and 4 seconds later opened all the way.
AC was off no pets and possible way.
2ND time-
Dog was whining cause it was in sisters room.. I went to check on dog and once I approached door I hear a little girl about 6-9 years old talking to the dog saying that's a good doggie it's okay... I'm not gonna hurt you.
I opened door and dog ran out and no girl inside the room.
That's all I ever experienced and I know what I witnessed was not imagined.
I'm a believer now

I'm not sure if it was haunted or not but I was walking my dog around my aunts neighborhood with my mom. I started to walk a few feet behind her and when I stopped to tie my shoe a ghost, all covered pale almost white, walked right past me and vanished.

I woke up one night and looked through my bedroom window . It must have been about 1.30 am On the opposite side of the street sitting underneath a lampost I saw a huge white rabbit.I thought I was dreaming and pinched myself ( it hurt) having blinked several times it was still there must have been at least 3ft tall just sat underneath the lamp cleaning it's paws as they do. I shouted my partner to take a look but he couldn't see it.he thought i was illucinating. Eventually it just dissapeared. really weird I still get jibed about it now
