Does anyone else think this is wrong or am I just being a nudge?

Stealing is stealing. The dollar amount is not the issue the fact that she is doing this, I am assuming, behind her bosses back is the issue.

I would also venture to guess that she is not alone in this. I would make a bet that most if not all the Admins are buying thier lunch on the company as well as the one you mentioned. When one does it they all do it type of thing.

It is wrong and the people that ultimately pay for this kind of abuse is the general public because it raises the price of the finished goods.

It depends on whether her boss has given her permission to do this. Many bosses will let the assistant add her lunch if she has to use her own car and gas to go get the lunch order, and in that way it's a compensation for an extra expense he caused her, and maybe for doing an off-job-description favor. The boss often will not advertise this arrangement to her coworkers.

If it's without the knowledge or consent of the boss, it is wrong.

Its not wrong at all. Even though she may not participate in the meeting she still has to do work so that her boss is prepared. I would always tell my assistant to order her a lunch as well. Dont worry about it, its not your money.

I have worked in big companies before, and we always treated the extra lunch as a thank you to the individual who ordered it. If it went beyond the one person, it was considered abuse of the system. I understand your feelings, but I do not see it as super wrong.

Yes I think its wrong also; if she is not included in the meeting why would her lunch be included. I feel it is taking money from the company and taking advantage of privileges also. It will catch up with her.

i would see that as just taking money from the cash drawer and buying yourself lunch, tell them if they can do that then they should start buying lunch for you as well,

i just see that as taking away from the company, giving one employee extra compensation over other employees, and unfair even though it probably doesnt cost alot

It's not like she's embezzling thousands of dollars. All companies find ways to screw their employees; it's only natural that the employees want to take, too.

Now, if she starts ordering her WHOLE FAMILY dinners, daily, then maybe we've got a problem...

It's the same old way... No one wants to get involved. Leave her to it, she will get found out at some point.
