A family friendly place to stay?
I will be taking my kids to San Diego May 25 - 30. Can you recommend some great places to stay, visit and eat that wont break the bank. My kids are (17,13,10 and 6). I want to do something other than lay on the beach.

the closer you stay to the coast the higher the prices will be. will you be renting a car or have a car? if so i would suggest staying more inland. also, you can use the trolley to travel as it is a cheaper form of getting around san diego. there are many family friendly restaurants like chilis in san diego. balboa park is a great place to visit and some of the museums are free on certain days. some interesting free places to visit are old town, gaslamp quarter, presidio park, the mission, old point loma lighthouse, the beaches at coronado, la jolla, ocean beach, pacific beach. have fun!
