Can anyone please tell me, which branch of the armed services deploys to war first?

its the marines, who are transported by the navy. the air force is responsible for air superiority and ground support of the marines/army. the army is used to occupy territories and provide support to the marines.

It depends on the situation. Any branch of the military can be attacked anywhere. With jets able to travel thousands of miles from their bases and be refueled in the air, it could be the Air Force, or Navy jets. Quick action may be performed by the Army airborne units. You sort of answered your own question. First the Air Force and Navy pound the hell out of the bad guys then the Marines and Army go in to mop up.
