how do i changed the registered name on my pc?
when i bought my laptop i registered it in my name, now we would like to sell the pc but can't figure out how to change the registered name. i have a HP pavillion laptop.. i tried to call HP but of course English isn't their first language and can't understand me

When you click start, click on the picture next to your current name. Then a window should pop up about changing your account picture but click the Home button near the top and then it will bring you to a page where you can change your account details.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion
Look in the right-hand pane for the String RegisteredOwner
Note down what it says.
Right-click and click Modify
Type in what you want.
It should take effect immediately.

make a new user from the control panel menu ....user account
and make it an administrator
