IP address to access Binatone ADSL 2000 web interface?

I have a Binatone ADSL 2000 modem/router. My computer is connected to it via Ethernet cable. I need to access the web interface to change some port forwarding settings. However, I cannot for the life of me remember what the IP address for this is!

Some examples of what it is NOT:

192.168.1.1

192.168.1.2

10.0.0.0

10.0.0.1

10.0.0.2

Update:

Thanks to bfr_666 for the good pointers. However, the default gateway shows up as 192.168.1.2, and pointing my browser to this just results in a timeout. And running tracert tells me for hop 1 that "request timed out".

Are you using DHCP on your PC to get the PC's IP address, (as that should make it easy to determine the port) and have you changed from the default (port 80) for accessing the router user interface? Next problem will be remembering the username and password if you changed them from the 'out of the box' settings :)

Does it allow telnet access? Some allow that, or have a serial port on the back, so can be connected to the COM1 port on a PC. (Sorry, not familiar with the unit you have.)

Most routers I've used allow for a different port to be used (which means casual hacking attempts from outside will not get access to the user interface, if you allow remote access - I support a number of clients so sometimes find it handy to check their router stats without needing to go through any PC at their home/office, but I don't use port 80 / 8080 / 8008 or other common numbers as there are tools which will report any web servers found, and from that info, you can identify different routers which are online!)

    Good luck

Issue appears to be a firewall or something blocking ur access to the gui for the router, firsty doublecheck the default gateway address when u run ipconfig in command prompt, check you internet options settings make sure never dial a connection is selected and in lan setting automatic detect settings is ticked, if all is good, restart computer in safe mode, usually u jus restart and press f8 repeatedly before u get the windows loading screen, confirm the default gate way address and try this in the internet explorer, if it still doesnt work, double check with manufacture if the router has a webinterface, some routers may jus have command prompt configuration.

Is it operating suited and also you've the favor to make a change? Run routeprint in a DOS or CMD field. The default gateway is the router IP. positioned that IP on an internet browser. even as triggered for a login and password, in simple terms click login without entering something nor replacing the login and password. If that would not artwork try gadget for username and admin for password. verify your documentation for the producer's default username and password. If that has one way or the different replaced, you'll reset the router. oftentimes there's a reset button. back verify your documentation.

Go to command prompt and type "ipconfig" and press enter.

"default gateway" is the correct address usually.

    edit:

to go to the command prompt:

    Start

    Run..

    cmd [enter]

    edit2 :) :

If for some reason the gateway shows no address, type

"tracert www.google.com" (or any web address), and press enter, the first address that comes up should be your routers ip.

    hope this helps

what ip address and default gateway do you get when you ipconfig? try pinging the gateway... if you get 0% loss, try accessing it in your browser... best to try it with your firewall disabled or in safe mode with networking (if you're on an XP or Vista) if accessing times out.

    hope this helps.
