will wearing speedos ever be accepted in the us?

Speedos were actually very fashionable years ago. I remember as a young girl appreciating the way they looked on the well built guys and laughing about the ones that were totally covered up by belly flab so that the guys looked like they were walking around naked. Just like everything else, they'll see their day again.

I think they are frowned apon here because they seem sort of arrogant in a "Look at me I'm so hot" way. Odd, but the rule doesn't seem to apply to women in thier thongs...

I live near the beach and go all summer. You know what? If you like 'em, and look good in 'em, just go ahead and wear 'em. The beach is a place to enjoy yourself and be comfortable. When I visit my parents in Sarasota there are plenty of Europeans running around wearing them, so just wear them proudly, make no excuses and be happy.

Probably not. In the US, generally, men are expected to display assets other than their bodies, so, while it may be perfectly acceptable for you to wear, say, a white oxford and a Rolex to the beach, speedos are right out.

Women, on the other hand, are not generally required to HAVE assets, other than their bodies, and that should be picturesque (I'm speaking from the paradigm, not personal opinion).

Also, the visual attraction zones on a man's body are generally considered to be the torso and legs.

So, it may be a social double-standard: where men are required to be more conservative or 'responsible,' while such behavior is not required from a woman until her physical assets pass their ripeness. Yes, it's a silly double standard, but women in the US are required to be far less socially responsible.

speedo prob not. maybe think about wearing a square cut bathing suit. still small but looks better and more modern then a seedo

Wearing speedos I would hope are illegal everywhere. They are certainly evil in NZ. Being fit helps, as it reduces the eww factor, but make sure you remain on the beach while wearing them, if you wonder into shops or up to the icecream van make sure you put a towel around or some shorts on as they jsut end up looking like undies.

Effects of Witnessing fat People in Speedos

If a person was to experience a fat person in speedos they should experience these symptons.

Tutting and shaking of the head slowly

Vomiting up of vital organs

Whispering and pointing at subject.

A inability to divert attention, (irregardless of effort)

Vomiting up of some non vital organs

Clawing out of one eyes

Holiday ruinedness

Extreme depression (leading to suicide)

If you were to experience any of these symptons evacuate pool area/beach immediatly.

Speedos were popular for men back in the 80s...along with short/shorts and sweatbands. Trust me---we won't be going back there for a loooooooooong time. Men just have too much hair, too many places. Also, most men seem to overestimate how "fit" they truly are, by a long shot.

Oh dear God, I hope not. I'd like to be able to keep my food down. As much as I appreciate a good body on a man, I don't enjoy seeing that much of the outline of their privates. Leave a little to the imagination, people! I think that's much more alluring.

That goes for girls, too. I really, really, REALLY don't want to see that much of your titties. I can think of a few people who agree with me. We KNOW you've got a hot bod, we can see that in a one piece, can it with the little stringy things.

no american man unless he's a competitive swimmer would wear a speedo on the beach.

Well were im at in the us its fine. Nobody really care if you are or not. But i mean if you are 300 pounds in a speado yeah people are going to talk but if you are fit like a 6 pack then i no women like it. But then again men will be hatin wishin they were you lol.

My advice to you dont care about what other ppl say.

The real question is ask someone you know if you look good in them and pray that they are being honest.
