Prevent MAC Spoofing?

I use a WRT54G Linksys wireless access point and offer wireless internet for our users. Usually, if I find that someone is causing problems, I can block their MAC address in the WAP settings. How do I overcome the problem of them spoofing their MAC address, using a program like SMAC, and still using our Internet, although their real MAC has been blocked.

    That's a tough one.

I've been thinking of the same at my job.

If a legitimate user was making trouble, that's an ethical problem.

if an illegitimate user was accessing, I used to block individual MACs. But then spoofing appeared.

The only way seemed to me to activate encryption on the WRTG. Valid users should know the password. You tell them.

WRTG doesn't provide anti spoof tools.

Unfortuately the simple home routers cannot prevent mac address spoofing. You can set it to block all mac addresses at 11:00pm or make new spoof addresses for you and your sisters laptop.

    It depends.

You won't be able to detect a spoofed MAC, but you might not need to. You can use a proxy to authorize users from a network standpoint, or 802.1x to authorize links.
