Hickeys are temporary...tattoos are not.
If it's just one hickey, then put toothpaste over it, and don't wash it off. The hickey will be gone by the next morning. If the hickey is very dark purple or very red, then you need to apply some rubbing alcohol and toothpaste over it, and leave it.
Tattoos are not the answer, though. Unless that's what you want, in the first place, was to get a tattoo. But if it's just to cover a hickey, then your best bet is just to let time heal that hickey and do the home remedy...

No way. A hicky is temporary. Lasts what.... 3 days to a week maybe even just a few weeks more. Where as a tattoo lasts a lifetime. Sure it may be cool right now when you're young to have a tattoo on you. What happens when you're 80 yrs old? Do you really want to be an 80 year old with a tattoo????

NO!
A hickey is only a temporary blemish. It will go away after a few days (normally). It's also very likely that a tattoo parlor would not give you a tattoo on that injured skin for fear of it getting infected. Don't even think of it!
See the website below for some very specific answers to your question.

a hickey is just broken blood vessels by suction... when they heal in a couple of days or so it's gone without a trace a tattoo won't go a way.......
A little make-up, turtleneck or scarf will hide the hickey until it heals
if you're a girl you can always say you burned yourself with a curling iron (not that anyone would believe it)
or that you got into a fight with a vacuum cleaner and lost :)

hmmm, once, this woman, who was married (there is a whole story behind that, ask if you want to know) gave me 2 HUGE, DARK PURPLE ones, 1 on each side of my neck! man, when her hubby saw those....anyway, a friend of mine (the true love of my life, and she never felt that way about me!!) took a maybelline bottle top, the purple star shaped one, and started pushing and twisting hard into the hickeys. instead of taking at least a week to go away, they were gone in 2-3 days. does that help? and baby, you are too hot to be an idiot!!

The best way to cover a hickey is with your mouth.
Oh, wait, you mean on you, not on him...ahhh, I see. Hmmm. O.K.
Use marker pen and make the hickey into something else. (Didn't you ever play that game where one person makes a squiggle on a piece of paper and then the other person has to make a picture out of it? Same principle.)

Hickeys go away in a few days. Why would you put a tattoo over it. Just use some makeup in the meantime.

I suppose if you plan on getting a hickey in that particular spot over and over, then it might be a good idea. Otherwise, invest in some dermablend-commercial grade concealer strong enough to conceal tattoos.

the best thing to use on a hickey is witch hazel...you can buy it in the section where they sell rubbing alcohol and stuff...it calms the skin it's also great for acne too...but use that and make up make sure you powder really well and that is about the best you can do ....whatever you do don't try toothpaste it just doesn't work hope it helps hun

Uh, a hickey will fade after a day or two. If you don't want people to see it, just cover it with make up (concealer works best) until it's gone.
