not sure which ones turn into moths, which into butterflies, what kinds turn into what kinds, anybody have any info or websites to help me out?

usually the bigger, hairier and thornier caterpillars turn into moths. The butterfly caterpillars are usually smoother and not as hairy/thorny.
Whether they're butterfly or moth caterpillars, they're all icky. Makes my skin crawl just thinking about it.
