Weed and Feed Question?
I put down weed and feed this spring. 2 days after application we had a frost. There was no rain yet. Will I need to re-apply or will it work OK? I am in the midwest. Please give blog sites or web site that may help.
thanks.

I am a master gardener and a Certified nurserywoman and I am from the midwest as well. My best advice to you is that if you need help you can contact your local extension office and ask them if you are not sure of what I am going to tell you now...but I believe that it will be fine. Your weed and feeds work, due to the chemical soaking into the ground and working systemically (being sucked up by the roots of weeds) Once this happens the weeds die and by killing the seeds of weeds that may germinate in the soil. Weeds usually will sprout first in your garden/lawn since they are hardier than your normal plant seeds. So, yes...your weed and feed will work fine.

I Put down WeedNFeed three weeks ago and we have had frost. Do not worry, it is a slow concentrate and will not harm it at all. MY grass is a pretty dark green now and you can see where the stuff is killing the weeds in my yard..

The temperature will not affect the application; however you should water your lawn a few days afterwards in order to allow the fertilizer to do its job. Do not reapply as over-fertilization can be much worse than not fertilizing at all by making your lawn susceptible to disease.
