Does visiting a livejournal page allow that user to see my ip address?
i know that it allows logging of ip addresses for comments, but what about just visiting their page?
does it allow that specific user to check what ip addresses viewed their page. im not worried very much about security with the proxy server settings that i have, but i was wondering if that person would see on their lj page that someone from 'zimbawbwe' was looking at there page. the comments sections gathers the ip address of the person that posted a commment, but i dont have a lj account, and i was wondering if someone could see the ip address of the person that visited the page only

Unless they specifically put a counter on their profile page or journal, then no, they can't see who is looking at their page.

I can't access it too! :( I hope this is quickly resolved. Do we need to send our IP addresses to the webmaster as asked? EDIT/UPDATE: I sent the email, but I don't think it factored in helping my situation. However, now I am able to access my livejournal homepage as well as my journal and my individual entries. But I have to refresh AT LEAST twice per try to get access to the page I want, otherwise, the same notice still comes out telling me my IP address has been banned. Either that, or I completely cannot access the page at all. Anyone experiencing the same thing as me now? UPDATE II: I cannot access my Livejournal anymore. It's back to the notice again. UPDATE III: Livejournal was accessible for a day... UPDATE IV: Now it is just "Your IP Address is blocked." The notice to email to the webmaster is gone. ... I am so frustrated! What is happening, and why hasn't livejournal released any statement about this?

Yes. You can not go anywhere on the internet and not have the IP you are at be seen. It's the way the internet is designed.

Nope. There is no tracking in this case unless the site is governmental or of secret forces - FBA, KGB, etc.
