How do you feel about Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton? Imus?

I'm sure most of you are aware of the recent Imus comments. If you're not then you should look it up. I don't agree with his comments and I am not arguing their validity. Richard's were very bad. I am just sick of the blame whitey comments and the fact that I am supposed to feel guilty about there not being enough black people on MSNBC and the pressure that he's receiving for making a "joke." Mencia makes them all the time and his are much worse. During hurricane Katrina, Imus repeatedly talked about how the stranded people were being neglected because they were black and how it was wrong. Now everyone is so afraid to be called a racist that everyone runs and denies any involvement with anything that could possibly misconstrued to be racist. In my opinion Sharpton and Jackson are racist and only serve their own interests and money hungry needs. They have power and money and they use it to earn more by calling everyone and everything racist. It makes me sick.

Jackson accuses people of racism because he knows what it means to be one(Hymietown anyone) Imus like richards and even the pope need to stop apologizing so much, be firm say i am sorry i hurt some peoples feelings but this is comedy and i rip on people of all races and religions.

When words offend, be prepared for offensive actions in response. They are already trying to enact laws against "hate speech" slowly whittling away at our freedom. My advice dont give in, and dont bother apologizing because those calling for apologees are asking for a whole lot more really.

I think Imus was wrong for calling those girls that. I don't like Jesse Jackson and never have, but if anyone else had called Imus on his blatantly offensive commit, people would not be making such a big deal of this. I think this is some else for race baiters and racist to swarm around like flies for a couple of weeks and that is all.

If people don't think "nappy-headed hos" is a offensive comment then think of someone calling you wife, daughter, or mother that, what would you do? A lot of people are hanging on the word 'Nappy' and totally ignoring the 'hoe', intentionally making it about race.

When your in a work environment any professional knows there are certain things you can and cant do, depending on where you are and what you do. Being conscious of that is not PC, it's morals and work ethic.

I do find it surprising that people expect others to smile and be happy about being called something derogatory and demeaning. When did hate speech become 'the right thing to do'.

I think Sharpton and Jackson are being used by the powers that run the media/america. Just this week, we learned that Bush's friend Abramoff was raising money to arm Israeli terrorists - people who 'settle' in palestine and then kill the palestinians. This past month, we've learned that the justice department has been configured to make all republican acts legal and democratic acts illegal. SCores of people are dying daily in Iraq, for no reason. So, you are supposed to debate Imus from one angle or another and ignore what's really happening. Ignore Imus, Jackson, SHarpton, and the other distractions. Focus on what's really happening, the emergence of the american police state and the mass murder of arabs.

You are the ONLY human to make a great point, that Imus was there, the entire time during the hurricane, having sympathy for the people in Katrina.

No matter how many great things Imus has said, it takes one bad nĩģger-joke to ruin everything. (Yahoo censored the word nĩģger, so I had to use "other characters" to display my free speech).

    Formal apologies, rehab, etc.... Ridiculous!!!!!!!

Imus is an entertainer, comedian, a talk show. He is not some important politician. He is on the radio, at the same time Opie and Anthony, and Howard Stern. You and I know that this incident is stupid, and that Imus should have said "I am sorry" only once, on his show, and moved on. Anything beyond that is anyone's problem.

Jackson is nothing more than a rubber necker, and a spot lighter.

Fat Cat Al is the perfect example of how only we white folks are the evil ones only us if it was said by one of them no one would have noticed.

Check out sometime the major Black hip hop,and rap artists and what garbage they spill out they are the ones that openly started this slang for whore description of their ladies.

Recently I heard on the very famous Black Ladies show her speak of her nappy hair and how many Black women hated their nappy hair and she had hers straightened.

Nappy is a fact I suppose he could have said kinky both are factual nothing racial about it,and being in the entertainment business around radio stations Imus has as much of society picked up the hip hop gutter talk and it just rolled out innocent like.

The Jewish people have and continue to hurt far worse yet did anyone get fired over what these two characters (not Imus) said about them? NOPE.

You see all this is is more reverse discrimination, and double standards.

I totally agree with you. Sharpton and Jackson are more racist than Imus will ever be. Let's see the ACLU defend Imus' freedom of speech, or any of his constitutional rights. They are to busy defending the "rights" of illeagal immagrants taking over our country.

I took a glimpse at the story and dismissed it as more air-time for sharpton to spu out his rhetoric.

IF the Black community would stop listening to people like sharpton and j.jackson their lives would be better. I learned that by talking to many black American friends over the years. I have a community out reach program starting up with black Pastors and my ministry that will hopefully open some eyes.

the only people profiting from "kill whitey" are people like sharpton and jackson.

Jesse and Al are the prime promulgators of you can say anything about anyone (freedom of speech) as long as they are not black. You can vilify the President, you can tell crude jokes about the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court or the Speaker of the House, but you can say nothing negative, derogatory or demeaning about a person of color (you really can't even define exactly what "black" is.) Freedom of speech is being canned in the name of Political Correctness concerning blacks. I think they need sensitivity training.

I think Imus is a wimp, if you're going to say something like that you should at least have the balls to stick to it ! I also think that Sharpton and Jackson are Hoes !
