That sounded really weird at first! you should definately wash your golf balls in the sink and not in the dishwasher because the surface of the ball might erode if washed in the dishwasher. After all, their not as dirty, so why should you wash them in the dishwasher??

Just wash them by hand , and a little washing up liquid. rinse then dry well . Wait for a nice sunny day , they will dry quicker out in the sun, PS, Judging by some of the replies you received , some people had other thing´s on their mind´s , before reading all the Q, naughty ,naughty, but NICE

just looking at the question itself made me laugh out loud....sorry! lol
Soak 'em in the sink - and wash by hand.....I would think the heat of a dishwasher could change the inside of the ball...since some have a gel-like substance in them.....

Dishwasher will destroy the protective coating on your balls over time. I find simple dish soap in warm water is the best way to care for your balls. As busy as I am I ususally have someone else wash my balls for me. wife neighbor, who ever is available. You can pay to have yur balls washed, but if thier heart is not in it, your balls could suffer later on.

Take pride in your balls. Carefully wash them in the sink and in public. Make sure everyone sees them shine.
