for the bags i mean i have a school bag a small luggage bag full of clothes then my dry cleaners bag will they allow that to all go on the plane

You mean they won't be in a suitcase, just in a plastic cleaner bag? They say just 1 personal item so I would say 1. Why don't you call your airlines for this information.

The airline will allow you 10 cleaner bags in addition to your normal carry-on allowance. What airport are you leaving from? I want to be there to laugh when you check in.
