if the rain forest hs bn dissapearing by 11/2 acres a second fr the last thirty years, how is their any left?

this figure seems to of been bandied about since i was in high school about 30 years ago so how can any one believe there was that much rainforest in the first place. has anyone ever worked out how much is 11/2 acres a second x thiry years.

    This should indicate that we started with a vast amount of rain forest and have now dwindled down to a small amount remaining.

    It should also indicate that the creatures who live in that environment are now dying off at a tremendous rate. They cannot survive without the food and shelter of the rain forest.
