What is up with MSNBC?
MSNBC sold out. They dropped Imus in the Morning. Why?
This news organization is gutless. Their attacks on the Bush administration are meaningless. They sold out to people who havent a clue as to what the US is about. Tell Jackson and Sharpton to look up Freedom of Speech. Jackson and Sharpton are also gutless yahoos.
Edit: haven't
Freedom of Speech only works one way...that is when speech isnt squelched.
Monkey pie, I see your point. This also gives me an opportunity to attack Jackson and Sharpton again. You two boobs should go after rap artists that don't give a flying f--k who they disparage...and while you're out doing good deeds, go after dog fighting which permeates the black community and drug dealing. That should keep Jackson and Sharpton busy for 10 years.

I am blocking msnbc I can stand what they have become.
msn is no longer my carrier nor are they my home page
as msnbc is the birth child of msn and nbc.
I may only be one person but I can do what I can do
Don Imus might not be the best person in the world but he has done very good things for children with cancer and our wounded military men and women
Thursday and Friday is his yearly telethon for kids with cancer and msnbc isn't going to be carrying that!! what is up with them
Jackson,Sharpton and msnbc care so little about the children that suffer that they would stop the show before the telethon?

hi,
as I recall freedom of speech works both was. so if you think that Jackson and Sharpton are racist then i hope that you are a strate man or woman because you may be next on Imus list of people to shock joke on, and i hope you are not from Iraq, or any other foreign nation because that will make you a target for the next controversy with Imus.

You also realize their sponsors dropped out right? Pretty much all the sponsors for that simulcast pulled out. You think MSNBC will pay for Imus's simulcast TV show out of their own pocket?
Plus, there is no violation of free speech here. The public criticized Imus, private companies made financial decision not to be associated with radio host who is now widedly perceived as 'racist' by the public.
You're right this free country. Private companies can fire employees who cost them money. Public can freely criticize people and refuse to listen to anybody. Everybody have freedom. Not just Imus.
Imus can go to Sirius easy if he wants to. But he is not fired yet.
There is no freedom of speech being attacked here. It's just private businesses trying to make money and trying to improve public image.
This is just pathetic every time I see people who complain about 'attack' on freedom of speech when we all have so much of it. Disagreement is not attack on free speech. Criticism is not attack on free speech.
I'm sick of people like Dixie Chicks complaining of their free speech being some how taken away when one can get killed for criticizing their gov in some countries.

The media is a business, it depends on ratings and advertisers, when sponsors begin to pull their ads due to protests to a talent's comments then it's time to reconsider - either keep the talent and lose money or lose the talent and remain profitable. These companies have stockholders to look after. Also besides public protests, employees of these companies are complaining that they don't want to work for a company that would employ a racist on-air personality like Imus. Likely he will be fired.

It makes me mad because Jackson and Sharpton make comments about whites all the time! Both are very big racists and MSNBC did sell out! MSNBC should have stood up for freedom of speech!
