Did you ever have faith in US elections?
Not only the past two presidentials, I mean from the time you started voting till now. What were your experiences? Did you think the lines were outrageous? Did you get to vote? Was your voting hall in a democratic/republican dominated town? I'm not with either party, this is only a question.

I have no faith in any election system that limits what political parties get on the ballot. All major and minor parties names should make the ballot. This is America.

Luckily, I haven't had the long line problem, but now I moved into a bigger city, so that may be a different story.
I have some faith in every election except one. That would be the presidential election, but not for the reason people believe. I am upset at the presidential election because unlike other elections, my vote may or may not count due to the Electoral College. If I vote one way, but the state votes another way, the Electoral College votes go to the other person. Usually it's one person, one vote, but not with the presidential election.

I have lived in Chicago all my life - a place well known for election shenanigans. Despite that, I do have faith in fair US elections. Do I think there are dirty tricks or fraud - of course, but that still doesn't change my opinion that we have the best system. I have only experience long lines on two occasions but still didn't wait longer than 30 minutes. I was never denied my right to vote. In Chicago the Democrats dominate everything.

I have never had any bad experiences voting...a couple long lines over the years...and I think America has an excellent record in general fair play and the rule of law when it comes to elections. I think the past 2 pres elections went fine...out of all the bluster no illegalities have ever been turned up...and many newspapers did their own investigations after both. If you want to look at voter fraud check out the Kennedy/Nixon contest. It was widely understood that Daley stole the election for Kennedy in Chicago. Nixon wanted to go to the courts but Ike talked him into to not doing that and setting a bad precedent for presidential elections. Of course in 2000 Gore had no such honor....my take on things anyway.

when i was young and naive. i know better now.
the elections can be stolen with these computer-controlled ballots, and if it is possible, don't you think the corrupt elite will use that technology for their advantage? there is a reason that we are not allowed to see the source code of the voting program.
DEMAND PAPER BALLOTS IN 2008
There are bigger problems than just that. Ther should be limits on how much money a candidate can raise, and they should not be given money in exchange for loyalty. The smaller candidates are given little media attention, and they would likely be SO much better presidents for the people.

I'm not with either party myself. I think they give people an excuse not to think about the issues.
I didn't have a problem with our voting system either personally or ideologically until 2000, when 50,000 black people were denied the right to vote in Florida. The problem has still not been properly addressed.

Yes I have been voting for a long time and until Gore/Bush and Kerry/Bush i would have went to the grave believing that our elections were fair and never worried whether my choice won or lost.but now I'm very skeptical Some day we will find out the truth,I just hope I live long enough to be here for that day

Yes...
Its the best system out there.
Anyone who thinks of eliminating the electoral college is an absolute fool who puts too much faith in people. $hit...half the people couldn't tell you who the Speaker of the House is...
People vote on their moods...not necessarily what is logical..
Do you really want a popular voting system?

Yes, and I still do.
The only time I can recall having to wait very long was during the CA Governor recall election a few years back.
