Why did the Ingalls move to the city and live above a restaurant next to the saloon?? what happened to the farm and the lumbar mill?

They moved to the city for work. The Carters bought the farm. John and Sarah and their boys, Jeb and Jason. The mill stayed, Edwards still worked there. Until the town was blown up in the Last Farewell.

Was it when there was the hard winter... I am not sure. I read the whole series of books,growing up... do you know which book. I still have them and can look it up. I loved reading them. My 5th grade teacher got me hooked, I plan to pass them down to my daughter.

i think you are referring LHOTP, called forever i think this was the ending story but i never saw it just heard of it. try the library they might be able to help you in finding the book to read in the next generation.
