Love Yahoo...It is what I do best! I work as a legal assistant, in a Family Law Office. I see some pretty strange things. The office does a lot of Juvenile Court, Child Support Contempt, Family Law, and works with the Department of Children Services. I thought it would be nice to get away from the crazy people that come to the bars where I use to bartend, and serve. So as you can see, I have done a few things in my short 30 years, I am a mother of 2, my daugter lives with her father. My son lives with me. It seems I have a lot of opinions, and advice that I can give,I have seen and done a lot. I was a teen mom. I have never been married, and spent a few weeks in the Army, Long Story. I have a great life, and wonder friends and Family. I do give advice, somewhat hoping some people avoid the mistakes I made when I was younger. I see a lot of young people going through the same thing I did, I am only here to offer advice from my mistakes, take it or leave it. Best Wishes to all !!

  • my bottom eyelid area is swollen...for a few days now...?

it is not my eye, and my eyelash line is fine, it is the area under my eye. My eye is not red and it does not hurt. It is a little itchy, there has been no kind of drainage, but it won't go down. It is very puffy swollen. When I first noticed it 4 days ago, it looked like there was a tiny blister, then as the weekend went on it just kept swelling...

Does anyone know what it could be, or how to reduce the swelling. I work in an office, and I hate looking like I get beat at home....

  • I want a raise, Legal Assistant/Secretary. How much should I ask for?

work in an office as a legal assitant/secretary. I work Mon-Fri from 8-5. I have no benefits. My job duties include but are not limited to... answer phones, make appointments, answer questions, take messages, go to the post office and check the mail daily, go to the bank about 2- 3 times a week. I also go to the court house a few times a week to get files, and file paperwork. I copy the files and open files for the office. I also type and mail the letters to the clients. Dust and vacume the office. I have been on my job for 1 year. I may have taken 4 days off. I do work for family, and sometimes watch their kids when they have late meetings. I also get to pick my son up from school at 3 pm and keep him here in the office with me until 5 pm. Which is why I took the job, now with him in school, it does fit my schedule. I have worked for him for $210. a week, which is enough to pay my bills, but does not leave me any left over. What would be a fair Salary?

  • When will a father get to sue the mother of an unborn child to stop her form getting an abortion?

When are men going to stand up for their rights, have there been cases like this in the past.

Even a civil suit, this could cause him mental distress for the rest of his life.

If you are saying that a woman should not be forced to carry an unwanted child...then what the hell is she doing having sex. If she is not responsible enough to to take the measures to make sure she does not become pregnant... all of them

She can have her tubes tied, there are so many methods of birth control, there is not a reason. There is the pill, patch, IUD, the shot, female condoms, sponge, spermicides...the list goes on.

If she chooses to have sex, she should be prepared for the worst case scenario, and that means getting pregnant, if she fears an unwanted pregnancy, she should stay home and get her rocks off herself.

**Rape, not withstanding, even then that is a diffrent matter.

If she does not want to be forced to carry an unwanted child, she should not have sex... or like I said above take every single precaution... even if it means multiple forms of birth control.

What about the men who are lied to by a woman, the oh I can't get pregnant, and sure as the Sunshine's on the west coast, she gets knocked up...her form of trapping him.

You know it happens, I know people who have done it. The fathers are still forced to pay child support.

  • Where Were the Reverend Al & Jessie when Rosie O insulted...?

Where were the Reverends when Rosie O' insulted Christans, Asians, and Americans. She has insulted far more by her statements, I was more insulted by her comments, than Imus making a comment about hair. Not only are these men black, but they call themselves Reverends, so is the insults from Rosie any less. They have not called for her job, they did such a outstanding job with Imus, now get Rosie, She by far offends more of the population than Imus. Don't forget her belief that 9/11 was an iside job.

Please go get her Reverends, as a Black Nappy headed Woman, she offends me more. Since you found your call of duty to get Imus take it upon yourself to get Rosie Too...

Oh wait she has never apologized... she told Asians to "GET OVER IT!!!"

  • Gore vs.Bush...which one is more environmentally friendly?

This is a very interesting comparison....please read.

    House 1:

The four-bedroom home was planned so that "every room has a relationship with something in the landscape that's different from the room next door. Each of the rooms feels like a slightly different place." The resulting single-story house is a paragon of environmental planning.

The passive-solar house is built of honey-colored native limestone and positioned to absorb winter sunlight, warming the interior walkways and walls of the 4,000-square-foot residence.

Geothermal heat pumps circulate water through pipes buried 300 feet deep in the ground. These waters pass through a heat exchange system that keeps the home warm in winter and cool in summer. A 25,000-gallon underground cistern collects rainwater gathered from roof urns; wastewater from sinks, toilets, and showers cascades into underground purifying tanks and is also funneled into the cistern. The water from the cistern is then used to irrigate the landscaping around the four-bedroom home, which uses indigenous grasses, shrubs, and flowers to complete the exterior treatment of the home.

In addition to its minimal environmental impact, the look and layout of the house reflect one of the paramount priorities: relaxation. A spacious 10-foot porch wraps completely around the residence and beckons the family outdoors. With few hallways to speak of, family and guests make their way from room to room either directly or by way of the porch. "The house doesn't hold you in. Where the porch ends there is grass. There is no step-up at all."

This house consumes 25% of the energy of an average American home.

(Source: Cowboys and Indians Magazine, Oct. 2002 and Chicago Tribune April 2001.)

    House 2:

This 20-room, 8-bathroom house consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year. The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, according to the Department of Energy. In 2006, this house devoured nearly 221,000 kWh, more than 20 times the national average.

Last August alone, the house burned through 22,619 kWh, guzzling more than twice the electricity in one month than an average American family uses in an entire year. As a result of this energy consumption, the average monthly electric bill topped $1,359.

Also, natural gas bills for this house and guest house averaged $1,080 per month last year. In total, this house had nearly $30,000 in combined electricity and natural gas bills for 2006.

(Source: just about anywhere in the news last month online and on talk radio, but barely on TV.)

House 1 belongs to George and Laura Bush, and is in Crawford, Texas.

House 2 belongs to Al and Tipper Gore, and is in Nashville, Tennessee.

  • Here is what the BIBLE says about Homosexuality. Do you agree? Why or Why Not?

SCRIPTURE REFERENCE GUIDE - THE TOPIC OF HOMOSEXUALITY

    OLD TESTAMENT

Genesis 13:13 - God calls The MEN of Sodom wicked.

Genesis 18:20; 19:4-5 - we discover that at least a part of that wickedness was homosexuality.

Leviticus 18:22, 20:13 24-30; - God's Law strictly and clearly forbids HOMOSEXUALITY! The penalty for this activity is death.

Deuteronomy 22:5 - the Lord forbids homosexual dressing and cross-dressing.

Judges 19:22 - homosexuals are called - wicked.

I Kings 14:24 - male prostitutes (included homosexuality) - called "detestable".

I Kings 15:11 - male prostitutes were "expelled" from the land. God calls this "good."

I Kings 22:46 - male prostitutes were again "expelled" from the land - this time COMPLETELY. God calls this "good."

Numbers 23:19 - God says that he does not change His mind about His law or Word.

Malachi 3:6- God says that he does not change His mind about His law or Word.

    NEW TESTAMENT

Romans 1:26-28 - The whole topic of homosexuality is addressed and its spiritual origins are exposed. Homosexuality is called: Sinful desires, shameful lusts, sexual impurity, degrading, a lie, perversion.

I Corinthians 6:9-10 -You cannot be a homosexual and be saved!

Sexual Immorality = ANYTHING (including homosexuality, of course) that is clearly against the nature and will of God regarding our sexuality as defined by God's Word. From the Scriptures above Homosexuality is clearly in the category of sexual immorality. The Bible has much to say about those who live in sexual immorality:

Hebrews 13:4 - Sexual Immorality Condemned.

I Corinthians 6:9-10 - WILL NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD

I Timothy 1:8-11 - "pervert" comes from Greek Word (arsenokoitias) that means, Sodomite or Homosexual - specifically - a man who has sex with another man.

Ephesians 5:3-7 - WILL NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD

Galatians 5:19-21 - WILL NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD

Revelation 22:14-15 - WILL NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD

For those who think I might hate Homo's, I do not. Love the Sinner, Hate the Sin. I have an uncle, whom I disagree with on this subject, He does go to a gay church, and I do not agree that there can be a God fearing "Gay Church",needless to say we go back and forth for years now, Knowing that he will never change my mind on this subject. Those of you with the Love your neighbor, I do love my neighbors all of them, but I do not have to love what they park in the driveway, or put out for the me to witness. If they do not want to know what I think, they can park in the garage...so to speak. As long as they are out and proud, I will be loud and proud with what I stand for. Yes I know too that I am a sinner, I was born that way, like everyone on earht, but thanks to forgiveness, and true repentance, I will not burn in hell. And the whole, Do not judge others...read on, least you be judged by the same standards. Have a blessed day, I am.
