Is there a stand-alone flash player?
Can anyone recommend a stand-alone flash palyer? What I need it for is the flash player to stay in the same directory as my falsh files so that the user will not need to have a flash player installed in their PC. Any suggestions.

If you use Flash Professional, you can export as and EXE rather than a SWF. The terms of service don't allow you to otherwise install a separate copy of Flash Player just for use by one application.
If you are making a Window application, you can instantiate Flash Player as a com object and use the activeX Flash Player control without increasing you application size. Flash Player penetration is high enough (~85% of the internet within 9 months), that this shouldn't be a huge issue.
There is also a new runtime by Adobe called Apollo which is a way of creating Flash desktop applications that integrate with webkit and acrobat. You can do some pretty amazing things with it. If you want to download the public alpha, go to labs.adobe.com
