Foster care question?

We all know that foster care needs to be fixed. What are your suggestions? Also, do you think foster parents be required to know English and if they don't, should a child who only speaks English be allowed in that home? Do you think there should be a limit to how many you can have at a time?

My family has been involved in foster care for many years. In fact, my grandmother has been foster parenting for over forty years and has won multiple awards. And there are several thing that need to be fixed.

For example, we had one foster child because my mother was getting married and with the combined children, we would become a group home. So, there would have to be two certified parents. My step dad just did not have the time for the training so they removed the child and put him in a home with NO licensed parents. It was ridiculous. I think there are simply too many loopholes in the system that will lead to more and more problems.

As for English, I think that foster parents should be able to speak it. That is the countries national language and this would become very important especially with smaller children. It's not fair to the kids whatsoever.

And I also believe that there should be a limit on the number of children a family can have. I was watching a show on television the other day about a family who had over 20 special education children. There was no way that each of those children could have received the individual attention that they would need.

I think that foster parenting is wonderful and anyone interested should check it out, but be aware that there are faults. I don't have the best solutions for these problems, but making people aware of them is the first step.
