Need car advice. Popping sound in car.?

I own a ford escort wagon, 95. When driving and turning the passenger side between the wheel and axle I keep hearing a popping sound. It does this when I turn left and/or I am driving straight. When driving it isnt as loud of a pop like what happens when I turn left. There is no pattern to the popping, it just pops when it may.

Update:

The noise is not constant, it only happens when turning and sometimes when going straight.

Update 2:

How much would something like this cost to fix -?

i own a repair shop and you either have a bad CV joint in it causing this or the top mounting bearing on top of the strut is going bad,and it can also be a bad tie rod end or a bottom ball joint, those are the only things that will cause one to pop like this, but in order to find it you,ll need to take it in to a front end shop and let them check it and narrow it down.they can put it up in the air and check it for you and tell you exactly what it is,but at least this way when they tell you whats bad you,ll be ready, those are the most common causes for this, the one thing i didn't mention is the rack and pinion unit, its probably not that though, but have it checked, and then you,ll know for sure, and they should be able to give you some kind of a price also on how much this will cost you ,good luck with it i hope this helps.

If its a continuous popping noise like pop, pop, pop, pop then it is the CV joint in the axle and needs replaced. If it is a single pop noise on a single, turn then is some sort of suspension or steering joint that is worn and needs replacing. Some of the possible problem spots could be ball joints, tie-rod ends, sway-bar end links, sway-bar bushings, or loose or worn under carriage bolts/bushings.

I recently had something just like this on my brand new Toyota Camry. I took it in for service, and they found that some of the bolts on the "subframe" (presumably part of the frame around the front axle) were not properly tightened, and the looseness in the bolts caused the popping sound, particularly when turning. They tightened them and the sound went away. Your mileage may vary, of course.

The battery charger at paintings grew to become right into a good concept. If it starts after being charged do no longer run the radio the ac or the lights in case you may help it a super variety of those issues will drain the battery speedier and not assist you rigidity as some distance in the past it dies. Even at the same time as that's working if the battery drains completly the motor vehicle will die. in case you will get it began autozone or a areas shop like it many times will attempt the battery and alternator for unfastened. good luck

if this is a front wheel drive car it is probably your constant velocity joint going out. it is usually more of a clicking sound than a pop.

Sounds like it may be your CV joint. You better get that checked as it doesnt sound safe either way. Popping noise should never be overlooked.

The c.v. joint is ready to let go.Have it looked at right away or you will be paying towing charges as well as repair fees, assuming it doesn't cause a crash.
