My dogs paws are REALLY dry, what should I do?
We moved from a humid city to an EXTREMELY dry one (in comparison) and Ive noticed today that one of her figers bled because her paws are dry and rough. She doesnt walk on concrete or anything like it cause shes old and shes usually around carpet. Ive applied some thick moisturizer that I have but I dont know, should I keep doing that? Poor doggie, I feel so bad :(

I would try Bag Balm! You can by it in any retail store, like Walmart or any pet supply store, like Petsmart! It' a small green tin box with red clovers and a bull on top of the lid. It looks like Vaseline, but has medicinal properties. It is also inexpensive. It usually works well, but if you don't see any change, then give your vet a call and see if there's something he can recommend.

I get my dog Wagberry All About The Paw all natural paw balm. You can get it online at www.wagberry.com

Since the paw pad is already cracked and bleeding , you should consult the vet.
But after it's healed, you can use Bag Balm to keep the paw pads supple.

I agree that asking the vet for an ointment is a good idea. You can also check at the pet store for stuff to soften her pads. There are products specifically for that purpose.

Moisturizer is ok if its not scented but try some Vaseline. Really rub it into the paws gently..

Yes, moisturizer is good, but you can get some from your local pet store specifically for dogs.
