It is similar to an HD DVD. Blue ray disks can hold more infomation than a DVD or HD DVD... basically, they are the best! (Although, regular DVD players cannot play them... a PS3 can though)

blu-ray disc is a high definition format that has more spacthan dvds and hd-dvds.its not necessarily better than hd-dvd but blu-ray is outselling it,tho universal studios does not support it and dont put thier movies on blu-ray.buy the ps3 if u want a blu-ray player,its probably the cheapest u can get

It's like a DVD, but it can do special things that DVDs can't. You can't play them on a DVD player; you need to get a special player. BTW, you spell it 'blu-ray'.
