No,Americans have shown that they will join if there is a cause worth fighting for and a leader to show them why it is worth fighting.Excelent examples include WWII (where people rationed so much that if someone was speeding folks would turn them in for wasting gas,Or The Revolutionary War.)

Why would they be afraid to join? Why even consider it if afraid. It is still a volunteer service. Perhaps you are now referring to joining the military after Bush's invasion of Iraq.

sure but people are in disagreement
with the current administration policy
or people have differents project
not because people don't want join in the military
are coward like many soldiers believe
I'm pretty sure if this administration
was more honest with the America people
you will see more people
join in the military.
some politicans believe can lies
when or whatever they wants
but Americans are not stupid
and when is coming the time
to go to vote is payback time.
we are soldiers but we still know
the differences between right and wrong!!

some people ARE afraid.. But, I'm not afraid to join the military and serve my country in iraq.

No, they don't pay enough hell you can work at wall-mart and you may never get shot at for the same pay, and you get to go home to momma every night, get a student loan with no extra strings attached, no people aren't afraid they're just not that stupid, hell they joined in peace time for a reason you know and they would have gotten out had they done there time.

Heck yeah. Given the traumatic injuries from the IED's, the troops asked for $4 Billion to update their anti-IED gear. The Appropriations Dept cut them to $2 Billion (of $96Bil.meager budget).
How's that for 'Supporting the Troops'?

I was excited to join and Glad I did........ civilian life sucks, I love the Army life!
