What ever happened to the ZPG (Zero Population Growth) movement?

From global warming, to the collapse of fisheries, to poverty and pandemics the elephant on the table nobody wants to talk about is the number of people on the planet. Global population is supposed to stabalize at something like 10 billion people (though I'm not sure why it would stop there). That's like double the people alive today.

Do you think population growth is an issue? If so, what do you recommend.

Update:

apathy, sigh

I was part of that movement in the early 70's. Think the issue just fell by the wayside because other causes became more popular.

Today, I am less concerned by the number of people than by the lack of quality of life, declining morals, and increasing consumerism.

However, really good question. Good luck and God bless.
