Stick with the hotel thing. You can learn about behaviours in the people you meet there. My mother did all counselling and she ended up taking it all home. Too much head games and pain. The hotel job is prestigious and uplifting and maybe even fun! Psychology can be a hobby on the side.

Psychology is a very intersting subject- one thats always changing. It is also a very expensive field to get into...you will at least need your master's degree if not a doctorate. On the other hand, while hospitality is a really fun career field to be in, you must realize that in it you will never have a normal schedule. There's a very very small possibility that you will ever have a standard 9-5 schedule, and dealing with people can be incredibly tiring. I say you should get a job in a hotel or restaurant while you're in school doing your gen eds. If you think it's something you could not only live with but love doing for the rest of your life, then go for it.

Dealing with people can get pretty tiresome after a while. Dealilng with crazy people, has got to be even worse. Hotel management sounds like fun. Plus, the people you see there, you probably will never have to see again and I bet you get to meet some pretty interesting people.
