Well I'm too younger for the fifties, theres a tune from the sixties that my mum used to have, It was once referred to as War Paint and it was once sung via The Brook Brothers, There was once a different tune my mum had referred to as Running Bear however I dont recognize if that was once Fifties or Sixties. As for the Seventies, My favorite institution was once Roxy Music and all in their songs.

I have many favorites, but my all time fave is Led Zeppelin. They're one of the main bands that influenced rock music as we know it today.
