Is it true more people voted for American Idol in 2004 than the Presidential election?

Here is my beef with this theory: On Idol you can vote as much as often as you choose, in political elections, you can only vote once. So when Seacrest says "We had 35 million votes last night" that doesn't mean 35 million people. In fact, you can even use your computer to continually redail for two hours and place an unlimited amount of votes.

When considering this, isn't it a completely inaccurate statement to say more people voted for Idol?

there is no age limit, vote limit, or citizenship required of voters.

however, the vote counters reserve the right to throw out fraudulent votes, i.e. automated by a computer

that's truly no longer too lots of a difficulty by fact that in case you in simple terms write on your secretary (of the city/city) you reside in and say "i'm no longer likely to be on the city on balloting day that's why______" they're going to deliver you an absentee poll. i'm in college and that i'm on no account domicile to vote-- so for the final 3 years that's how i've got executed it, that's truly no longer that difficult to do. however the 1st poster is nice-- you could vote numerous cases for the 'idol' of your determination, and that probable brought about some outliers in the statistic. the place did you hear this statistic at? i discover it difficult to have self assurance some data I see in newspapers or on line (except they are from a scholarly source). playstation -- u . s . on the instant develop into infamous for making undesirable data. properly they weren't undesirable-- yet they provided it in a vogue that it made it look fake. i think of the president (even nonetheless i'm no longer prepared right now one) is greater of an 'idol' than any singer on television.

Also, there are thousands and thousands of Americans who have had the right to vote taken away from them, whereas anybody with a dial tone can vote on Idol.

YA! I was so shocked when I heard that. It's becuase people have to leave their houses to vote in the presidential election. But on American Idol, you just have to call and sit on your couch.
