In music, do you prefer male or female voices?

I like hearing female voices more than male voices. Almost every band that I happen to love is an all girl band or has female lead vocals. but don't get me wrong I love plenty of male vocals too.

I like to listen to a male's voice more because I am tired of hearing all the same female voices all the time!

I prefer male voices and have more male singers in my CD collection then female. I think it's because I like the songs and men singing about love and feelings vs women singing about love and feelings. I already have an idea of what women think.

It's about 50/50. However, one problem I have with a lot of today's female vocalists is that so many of them seem to think that they have to use every note in their vocal range in every song. But overall, some songs just can't be pulled off well with a male vocalist while others can't be done with a female vocalist. And some definitely need both.

well the problem with females i agree halfheartedly here that they do almost all sound the same the newer ones HOWEVER there are good female artists out there like for instance celine dion..I know she isnt the greatest cuz alot of people dont like her but if you really listen to how she sings its beautiful..I do like guys voices however also amy lee is another okay artist..there will be a great woman singer one day.. I think male voices. I don't know why but when I hear a slow song a male voice to me is more soothing.

male-definitely. partly because a lot of female singers are soprano and only want to show off those high screaming notes(ex-celine dion)and partly because i'm an alto. i can sing along with sting james taylor etc a lot easier than mariah

I prefer male voices, mostly because a lot of female singers kind of growl when they sing, like "ohhHHhhhhHHHHHHHh" and that's bothersome. Male singers just sing it clean.

I'm not super decisive on either side but I'd say male, they have hotter voices.

I even have Nora Jones CD and the final 3 songs on it are like lullaby's to me, I play it whilst i won't have the ability to sleep.... frequently places me right out......it rather is the only time it concerns.
