Computer Won't Play Videos and Distorts Pictures.?
I have reformatted my PC TWICE because of this weird thing that happens. I play World of Warcraft sometimes, and noticed one day that every time I tried to open it, it would crash. At the same time, I noticed that when I went to myspace or facebook (for example) the pictures would sometime be distorted. Like, it'd be normal at the top half of the picture, but the color would be faded or distorted at the bottom of it. Also, if I go to a website like YouTube, a video will play and then stop halfway though or less and won't play anymore. Not only that but when I try to go to a website sometimes I"ll get a code before it loads that says something along the lines of Firefox didn't get an authentic code or authentication code and I hit ok and the page loads fine. Or, it'll try to get me to Save a File and there is nothing on there that I"m trying to save!! I haven't downloaded anything. When trying to dl Spybot, it said it was corrupted each time I tried (5times) on the 6th it worked.
I did a disc refrag yesterday and then World of Warcraft played fine. But now the video and pictures thing is happening again. I haven't downloaded anything new. If I try, I"ll normally get that "error blah blah file is corrupted" message but I know the files are just fine. Thanks for any help, and I have screen shots of the error messages if that'll help anyone any better! :)
It doesn't do it with videos I have saved, only on the ones I visit at like websites. I just bought a brand new, 100$ video card a few months ago. So I don't know, I haven't had problems with it in the past.

The picture and video problem, does it happen with pictures/videos already saved on your harddisk? All of these issues seem to be linked to the internet, and with the picture loading problem, usually that happens, like the picture will be blurry and distorted, and when it loads compeltely it smooths out, its one of the downsides of the internet...and with youtube, maybe your internet connection ended, and youtube doesn't automatically receive a new connection as its loading, so for example if it was half way loaded, and you unplug your modem, and plug it back in, it won't continue loading...what is your ISP? The file saving issue seems like a virus, I have written programs (not viruses) that can stay on your harddrive even after a reformat, so that won't kill it comepletely, and using 3rd party programs is worse. If you have a bootable Operating System cd, I suggest you use DOS mode, and delete all partitions, and re-partition the drive (using the fdisk command), then format it, then install XP, or Vista, or whatever OS you use. Before you connect your internet connection, you should create a system restore point, which is pretty straight forward, just go into all programs, accessories, then system tools and click system restore, and follow through the menus. You should also get a good anti-virus/firewall, I personally find Norton really good, and a great value, if you don't mind dumping some cash, ($100 or less), and getting norton anti virus 2007, (make sure it has a firewall too). If you could post the error message screen shots on photobucket, or another filehost I'll take a look at them.
Hope I helped!

boot from windows cd and run a repair install, it will replace any corrupt system files with good ones, it does not affect any data or the programs on the computer

probably its 'coz u r not having the proper driver installed for ur video card. get it at microsoft's website.
then (if situation's the same) see ur pc's manual, and adjust the 'proper' (recomended) resolution for ur pc. it might work.
