Many a good bargain can be found in pound shops or bargain stores. The shops in our town are small and it's a tight squeeze to get in and out. They are very popular and do a good trade. I like to have a look around the charity shops and over the years have bought some decent things from them. One person's trash is another's treasure. Sometimes a minor repair is needed. One of my favourites is a manual coffee grinder, which new would cost a fortune. The only thing wrong with it was a missing piece on the handle, soon fixed with a large wooden bead. I remember the days of second hand shops, they disappeared in favour of expensive antique shops. Now they are back in the guise of charity shops and long may they continue making us all feel good from picking up a bargain and helping others at the same time.

it can be very hard to buy stock for pound shops and still make a decent profit if the item is sourced from the UK. most stored get bankrupt stock chear, or it is better to source from China and get the items air freighted to the UK, takes about 5 days and deliver to your door. a good conversion including air freight is the chinese price in USD in pounds... ( e.g a product costing $0.2 in china without freight usually costs £0.2 including freight duty and vat.)
