Anyone seen the new G37 Coupe that is due out this summer?

    Pros:

    • The car out-handles the BMW 335 without rear-active steer (which will surely enhance the handling)

    • New VQ37 powerplant with more horsepower (despite new SAE ratings) and a flatter more usable torque curve.

    • The new interior is much better than the previous G35.

    • VVEL technology which improves the torque curve and fuel efficiency.

    • Still a fairly attractive car

    • Better bang for buck than any BMW 3-Series

    Cons:

    • VVEL will hinder performance upgrades due to higher compression.

    • The styling is not the sex on wheels that the G-Concept was or even the G35 Coupe. Aimed towards female buyers.

    • No 6 speed automatic ala Lexus IS350

    • The new wheel design looks like crap compared to the 2005-2007 19" wheels

The bigger engine is great and all but the power is going to somewhat compromised by the bigger size. The torque has not really increased either which the bottom line when it comes to power. I am not a fan of this car overall. Its not as sexy as the G35 ( I am partial -own a 6MT). The stance is not as aggressive and the lines have been diminished to make it look less like a sports car and more like a luxury coupe only.

I won't be buying this car. I'll be looking at 330's or M3's if can cough up the dough. I hate to go over to the Germans because I REALLY like Infiniti but they dropped the ball on this one. The deviated too far from the beautiful concept that they put out a year and half ago. Cost contraints are surely the reason but this is a fumble by Nissan. The only thing left to wait for is now the Skyline....but that maybe out of the price range. I won't pay supercar money for a Nissan.

When they show the marketing pics the car does not look bad but when they show real world pics the car looks totally pedestrian. It does not inspire the wonder that you experience when you first saw the G35 Coupe.

Like the bigger engine and that it has kept mostly the same appearance. Dislike that its not quite as good looking as before and very little really changed overall it seems. Since it was already a great car, it seems like the new G37 will also be a great car. Though for a couple thousand more I might would choose the 335i over the G37, both cars have the potential to put out even more power.

The BMW 335i Coupe is a much better overall car. It looks, handles and is put together better.
