    Some options:

My favorite: nylon & mesh cubes/boxes in which you can pack rolled t's, underwear, etc. You can just toss the box in the drawer when you get to your destination & makes it neater if the TSA inspects your suitcase. (Buy a TSA approved lock at Target for your check-in luggage)

Rolled - says it all. Good for jeans & other non-delicates.

Bundled: Take the biggest item you are packing. Open it up & put it in the bottom of the suitcase w/the long ends hanging out. Then put your next item in w/the long ends hanging out opposite of the direction of your first item. Keep layering like this until every this is in the case. Then start folding the long ends until you get to the final layer.

Pack socks, perfume, etc. in your shoes. Pack liquids in ziptop bags. Bring extra bags in case of breakage & for dirty clothing.

Finally, for carry on liquids, the 3-1-1 rule:

    3 - three ounces or SMALLER containers;

1 - one quart see through zip top bag; and

1 - one bag per person

    Have fun!

Make a written list of what you need to take.

    List everything.

    Make three copies.

Add to it if you think of anything else.

If you have a heavier coat, wear it onto the plane so you don't have to pack it.

Take less and include an empty smaller bag you can carry or mail home.

Take one heavy sweater and two lighter ones, in case it's cold over there.

    Plan to buy an umbrella.

Fold everything in two starting with the larger items. Wear one of the lighter sweaters under the heavy coat, regardless of the weather; use a cap not a hat.

Take mixes that will dry, not cottons which are nicer. In case you have to wash them out.

Once the larger items have been stored, the smaller ones are easy to place; some can go in a carry-on; others around the edges.

Extra shoes go in the end of the largest bag.

Whatever you need goes into a carry-on, or purse,so you have access to it; remember, you can hardly take anything made of metal or liquid any more owing to crazies messing it up for the rest of us.

Wear the camera; take paperbacks, pad, pencil, maps, guidebook, copy of packing list, crossword or whatever for amusements. Folding everything carefully should solve the problem, moving from largest to smaller; and if you're going someplace cold, take along a sweatshirt for sleeping in

    Bon Voyage!

the best way to pack a suitcase is by standing at the top of the stairs and hollering 'HEY PACK MY SUITCASE' then promptly look busy with a cup of tea and a newspaper

Ziplock big bags are awesome, and you can put your clothes in one, your tolietries in another and your misc stuff (electronics, guidebooks, maps, etc.) in another.

Also, pack wrinkle resistant clothes so you don't have to bother with irons or look rumpled.

roll everything - it prevents wrinkles and allowes you to pack things more tightly, so you can fit more in.

Well, no, that wouldnt work. I think if you roll everything, it doesnt get as wrinkled and you can fit more in there.
