which are the best places in india free from humidity and hot climate ?

There are many popular tourist spots in India offering cool climate. Most of which have already been mentioned by others.

However, I would recommend a little off-track destinations that are also very easily accessible.

1. Macleodganj (Upper Dharmasala) - Himachal Pradesh

2. Coorg Hills - Karnataka

3. Leh - Jammu & Kashmir

4. Gangotri, Dhanaulti, Chamba - Uttaranchal

5. Shillong - Meghalaya

6. Along - Arunachal Pradesh

7. Gangtok - Sikkim

8. Netarhat - Bihar (or now ... Jharkhand??)

I've been to all these places and believe me, they're less crowded than the usual Simla, Kulu, Manali, Ooty, Kodaikanal, Kashmir, Darjeeling ... etc.

If you're a little more adventurous and don't mind a little roughing out. I recommend that you travel very light (2 pairs of clothes & underwear) and go a little interior from the above places. You'll find fantastic countryscapes, beautiful people and the wonderful opportunity to taste local culture, cuisine, music, art, lifestyle, dialect etc.

I personally see no point in going to a place where I'll watch TV, eat Dal-fry & Butter Chicken, Travel around in a vehicle, click some photographs and come back. I prefer going to a well connected, off-beat place - make it the headquarters and travel around the place (200 km radius).

Hill stations are best to visit to escape from humidity. You may go Palampur, you can enjoy a lot there. There are many villas where you can stay over there. Norwood Green is the perfect place for staying.

Basically most of the hill stations are free from humidity and hot climate. Srinagar, Mt. Abu, Manali, Nainital, Ooty are few to name.
