It belongs in Health, or Beauty and Style.
Anyway, you can buy dressings from the pharmacy/chemist/drugstore specifically for burns; DON'T just put on a band-aid or use gauze pads. The burn dressings are a clear pastic so you can see the wound and check how it is doing. These will help to reduce scarring. I used some on a massive burn on very soft skin, and the scar isn't too bad now. The dressings need to be changed every 3-4 days, and you might need to use them for a month or so, depending on the severity.
Once the dressings come off, moisturise with something like Vitamin E cream, also I've heard rosehip oil is really good. There are heaps of scar-reducing creams available now.
Also get plenty of sunshine for the Vitamin D. I had an old burn scar on my arm that seemed to last for about 8 months; once I started getting out in the sun again, the scar faded within a few days; now you can't see it at all.

I don't know if it will scar or not. However, it'll require you going to a pharmacy or somewhere (like Walgreen's or even Wal-Mart). There's this pasty stuff called Silvadene Creme. It kinda numbs burns. Works really good. Might wanna get some little gauze pads and some tape to cover it up (expose it to air a little bit every day though), it will help you to keep it from getting infected if it's very bad.
Scarring depends on your own skin alot of times. ME, I have so many bruises, scars, scratches from being clumsy that I don't worry about that part too much. I'm all about pain control.

Try Rose Hip oil (or Rose Hip Seed Oil), it effectively reduces scars caused by acne, surgery, burns, chicken pox, injuries and cuts.
Rose Hip Oil's potent cell regenerating and wound-healing properties help to replace ugly scar tissue with healthy, normal skin. It not only remodels damaged skin structure, it also improves skin color and elasticity.
Rose Hip seed oil is a pressed seed oil, extracted from the seeds of a rose bush (Rosa rubiginosa) which grows wild in the southern Andes.
It is unique among vegetable oils in containing retinol (Vitamin A). Rose hip seed oil is high in the essential fatty acids - linoleic acid or omega-3, and linolenic acid or omega-6. It is commonly used in skin care products. It is used for a variety of skin conditions, including dermatitis, acne and eczema, for mature and sun burnt skin as well as brittle nails.
Rose Hip Oil can help you look better than ever before. It has been used for centuries by the people of Chile. Scientific investigation into its properties began in the 1970s. Today its remarkable effects are recognized globally and it is recommended by dermatologists, skin specialists and cosmetic surgeons.

Wash it daily with soap and water and put some polysporin or neosporin on it to keep it from getting infected.
Both of them will reduce the chance of scaring, and the polysporin will take away the pain.

I am a Baker, and I was told that when you burn yourself, to put straight vanilla on it right away, and it does work. But I will say I have many smaller burns and all you can do is keep them moist with something like Neosporin...... Hope you heal better than I do!!

Polysporin will help. I think they make a kind specifically for burns, but any type will help reduce scarring and decrease healing time.

Rub aloe on it...preferably from a live plant..just break off a part and rub it into the burn. Unless you see a 666 starting to develope...then I would run as fast as you can to your nearest holy water pool.

Best place for this question would be your Drs. office. Burns can get infected more than any other injury, so you're better off to have it checked and corrected now.

There are specific burn treatments at Walgreens. If its happening right now - put butter on it.
