Why do men want their significant other to call them "Daddy?"?

i guess they want to feel that they're in control of every situation and aspect.....it's a manly ego thing

Being that I'm 59 but get away with seeming 50 or so and end up with guys in the 30-45 range, when my current guy started calling me "daddy" it sort of annoyed me. That was when we first met. Now that things have gone on a bit, and he's brought over some porn with "dad" and "son" in the titles and I have a chance to see what's in his mind when he says this, it's actually pretty flattering. I think that at first, not really knowing him, I assumed it was a suggestion that he might want to depend on me for some unknown thing as quid pro quo...he's 33. But now with benefit of a couple months of this going on, it's clear that the dad/son image is just what does it for him. Now if only I could convince him to talk 70% less during sex...

You must be thinking it is sick. Some psychologists will assure you it is. I don't think so. Toby Keith (a country singer) made it popular again with his recent song "Who's Your Daddy?" I think husbands and fathers sometimes compete for the daughter's love (The Electra Complex) and the husband is saying "Now who's little girl are you?" after they make love. All my husband is saying to me is that he's twice the man my father was. (He wishes!) Since my father passed away years ago, he IS now twice the man my father is.

We are also insane dog lovers and have 4 (or more) at all times. We give them names but they always wind up with a baby name that fits their particular silliness and attitude. When I talk to "the babies" I openly tell them to go get "Daddy" to do that for them, I'm busy. Maybe I'm nuts (except I'm not) but I adore it and think it's sweet.

Hope you can stand country music enough to hear that Toby Keith song "Who's Your Daddy" because it tells you what your lover really means. You might get excited once you know. I love to be asked "Who's your Daddy?" Good Luck!! @8-)

I jokingly call my b/f "daddy" every now and then... and when I say it to him, I don't think like father kind of daddy, I think more along the lines of daddy-o daddy... I don't even really connect the two when I say it. It seems like a completely different word from the father sense (to me)... I don't know.

Good question!!!! I personally think that it is just sick and would not do it or be with a man who wanted me to call him that. I have never heard of a woman who wanted their male mate to call them MOMMY.

My husband never told me to call him "Daddy" - the kids do!

Not all men do, my guy doesn't. I think it is pretty weird personally.
