If Turkey has less than 1% Christians, why do Islamic extremists fear them?

According to the article found on "http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/europe/04/19/bible.attack.ap/index.html", Turkey's Christian community is less than 1% of the population, yet a half-a-dozen (extremist) Muslims killed people making Bibles.

People constantly bash the U.S. when things like this happen.  So, back at you--without being racist, answer the following:

1) If Islam is peaceful, why attack such a small segment of the population?  There are more Muslims in the "Christian" US, without this violence toward them.

2) If Islam is such a great religion, why do extremists need to resort to fear and intimidation?  Forced belief is not true belief.

3) Is Islam really so bad extremists must bring others down with them instead of building themselves up?  Idea: Spend 1/2 this energy improving yourself and you'll go farther.

4) What's the difference between this and a bully?

Please note: I have differentiated "extremists" and NOT treated all of "Islam" as this one unit.

You've obviously never been to a USA Good Ol'e Southern Evangelical Revival.  Brother - Sister ... sometimes a little bit of Christian can go a L O N G way.

Southern wisdom grows on trees.  I've heard it said the all Fundes/Extremists should be locked in a room together.  But I say that's wrong.  What would we do with all their children?

Well you have to understand that in the Koran it first says that Christians and Jews are acceptable to Allah (and the Sabeins), yet later, it says anyone who loves a religion other than Islam is hated by Allah.
Then, it goes further saying that it is perfectly fine for Muslims to lie and mislead the unbelievers so as to catch them off guard and kill them if they refuse to convert.
