Age 50+ attire?
When we ladies reach a certain age, are we expected to dress differently? I dress fairly conservative as is. Your opinions please.

Ugh. My mom works in retail (she's in her very early 60's) and has started dressing like "that old lady" (matched sweatsuits, pink, lacy collars). There's no need for this.
Lots of stores that cater to this demographic (Chicos, Talbots, J. Jill) have frumpy clothes as well as classic, stylish clothes. I view this time as a very powerful time in a woman's life, and I tend to recommend styles that are more European (where women don't seem to fade away once they're too old to walk around with their ...parts hanging out). Classy is never a bad choice.
There's no reason to purchase the polyester sweat suits, long knit skirts, and oversized denim shirts with sequins that so many women seem to wear. A few key pieces - some nicely tailored oxfords and blazers, well-fitting jeans (not those high-waisted butt-flattening ones), classic cable sweaters, and fun evening pieces (this one's up to your tastes) are all you need for a high-class wardrobe that works for any occasion.
I'd stay out of the juniors department, of course. But you knew that already, right? If you're not showing cleavage (front or rear) or borrowing clothes from a neighbor's young daughter, you're probably fine. No need to buy those drapey cardigans and long, knit skirts....
Embrace your power. Set a good example for all the trashy teens :)

~ Always depends on how the lady was before, if she was conservative she will continue to be no matter what age, if she was a jeans lady at 50 she will continue to do so..
But our children would like us to dress like grannies..
Common sense is all it takes...We sure would not wear a mini skirt at 50, common sense... You can be 50 and be a classy sexy women too.

I am nearing fifty and can still fit in juniors clothing. I have close to the same body I had when I was twenty. I don't dress as "childish" as I did when I was younger.. Quite frankly, my dress doesn't "cover me up" more.. it's simply much more expensive and quality material. I get compliments all the time. I don't think there's a rule.. I think it depends on how you as an individual look in an outfit.

do you get dressed to exhibit your frame off... if this is the case then your inquiring for it... it's like gambling a porno on an external film wall and no longer anticipating any individual over a designated age to observe... in the event that they hit on you simply be a bleep... um sorry my dad is as ancient as you gramps... I suppose this has a gross element of 20 out of 10... excuse me even as I puke... how ancient is your daughter I wager we cross to the equal college! you have got a son, on account that I suppose he might be extra my age then... so is it you fiftieth birthday? that is why your striking out and hitting on 20 yr olds... excellent but (if you'll be able to do that one) hello I am 15 you creep what are you a intercourse wrongdoer hello every body I am 15 and he used to be hitting on me... LOL it might cause them to extra cautious subsequent time on hitting on more youthful individuals!

Just as long as you aren't wearing super low cut items, super short things, or supertight things... i don't care. I think a women should know what is appropriate for herself or have people that will tell her if she should not wear certain items.
