Is Jesus the Messiah?

Upon researching, the Jews had some requirements for the Messiah. These requirements included:

1. Ezekiel 37:26-28: Build the Third Temple

2. Isaiah 43:5-6: Gather all Jews back to the Land of Israel

3. Isaiah 2:4: Usher in an era of world peace, and end all hatred, oppression, suffering and disease. "Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall man learn war anymore."

4. Zechariah 14:9: Spread universal knowledge of the G-d of Israel - uniting the entire human race as one: "G-d will be King over all the world—on that day, G-d will be One and His Name will be One"

Per the Rabbi on the site, Jesus didn't do any of the above, yet had to complete all to be the Messiah. I am wondering how Christians explain this.

Please let me know & thanks.

Update:

Let me expand on this a moment based upon the answers I have gotton. "Yes he is" doesn't tell me anhything or address my question. Please tell me why He is the Messiah if he hasn't met the requirements.

It is explained in Romans chapter 11. The Christian faith teaches that Jew were to reject Jesus as the Messiah for a time so that the message would go to the Gentiles instead for a season. That is how number 4 is being accomplished as this moment.

Once the message has gone out, then the other events will happen. In fact, the gathering of the Jews to Israel is predict after that in the book of Revelation. Following by the rebuilding of the temple (or rather its descent from heaven) is part of the last two chaters of Revelation, and the beginning of the reign of peace.

It is just that not everything prophecied about Jesus has happened yet. Once the whole earth has heard of Jesus and the God of Abraham, then the others will happen and Jesus will return.

    Ezekiel 37:26-28 (King James Version)

26Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore.

27My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

28And the heathen shall know that I the LORD do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore.

The scriptures you indicated are prophetical and can only be discerned first by the power of The Holy Spirit and then more understanding might be had when interpreting the original Hebrew text. The Scripture above for example is not a literal translation but God is saying of the covenant of peace that He will make with Israel (descendants of Abraham by faith/born again Christ followers) is the reconciliation that will be made through His Son Christ after His death and resurrection or the prophecy fulfilled. This reconciliation is everlasting and the multiplying would come as people hear the Gospel and accept Christ (the body of Christ/the Church). The sanctuary set within Israel (again the church) would be God's Holy Spirit as a result of believing and accepting Christ. The tabernacle is the presence of God during worship, which was not an option at the time Ezekiel was written. The heathen are those who reject Christ. The fact is, deep down people who don't believe in God or accept Christ know that He Is. God has written his commandments on the tablets of our hearts. We know right from wrong and were created with a conscience. But people by their own will have the ability to over ride the conscience or God's law within them and God is such a gentleman He will not take back His Word to allow human beings free will. We choose and God will judge.

This only explains the first scripture you posted, however if you were to do as I said, if it is at all possible for you to do, you must have the power of God's Holy Spirit within you to spiritually discern and correctly interpret the Holy Scriptures.

First of all, 'J-sus' is not the Messiah(by name). It should be Yeshua('God is salvation'), or even Immanuel is acceptable.(Matt. 1:23).

Secondly, to prove He is the Messiah, He did the 'works' of the Messiah....

Mat 11:2 Now when John had heard in the prison the works of the Messiah, he sent two of his disciples,

Mat 11:3 And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?

Mat 11:4 Yeshua answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see:

Mat 11:5 The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

Mat 11:6 And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

THESE were the things the true Messiah would do: raise the dead, bring healing to the people, and spiritually 'raise' the poor to understanding of the Kingdom of Heaven. He also came to prove the resurrection of the dead as FACT, as He did that to many people, including Himself. The 'rabbis' do not understand what 'the fulfillment of Torah' means...

Mat 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

The creation is in the process of this fulfillment, and it is nearly complete, but to explain this requires more than just answering this question on Yahoo.

    1. He build the third temple

    2. + 4. He is gathering all the believers in God to the Land of Israel, NEW JERUSALEM

31"The time is coming," declares the LORD,

"when I will make a new covenant

    with the house of Israel

and with the house of Judah.

32 It will not be like the covenant

    I made with their forefathers

when I took them by the hand

to lead them out of Egypt,

    because they broke my covenant,

    though I was a husband to [d] them, [e] "

I'm not a bible scholar but i come from Messianic parents so here goes my friend..#1.In Ezekiel 37:26-28..Jesus did that He built the temples in our hearts when Jesus was crucified and resurrected He ripped the veil in the Holy of Holiness so that God could live in us and be ushered in to His presences anytime..remember temple can also be Body..That Covenant of Everlasting Peace Jesus is a descendant of David so it came through Him.#3. Judgment is when Jesus returns-so that is yet to come that perfect peace (Isaiah) #4 That is to Come ..as the other with Jew to return..i know there is more to be proven biblicaly so find them yourself if you realy want to know..Peace

  • If you're going to cite messianic scriptures, why not quote all of them and see how many Jesus met?

It's a proven fact, statistically, how miraculously Jesus fulfills the scriptures prophesying about Him.

And, the ones that have not been fulfilled yet...why do we assume that the Messiah would have to complete all of them FIRST before his Kingship began??? How do you not know that under his reign, all things will be made complete?

When all is said and done, there will be a New Earth and the Lord's church will be with Him forever.

Isaiah 52:13-53:12 "He will be exalted...first he will be marred more than any man, and lay down his life to make atonement for our sins, He will die with the wicked and be burried with the rich."

who do you know fulfills this and the commanded blood sacrifice innocent for our guilt Moses Leviticus 17:11

while you didnt say but if you say your Jewish and reject Moses, Isaiah and our Messiah-why not say you have a new religion-because it is sure not Judiasm.

from a Jew Bar Mitzvahd who believes Moses, Isaiah and the Messiah too. and praying for you

    Yes He is.

Check out the prophecies in the Old Testament that Marie O. gave. (There are over 300 prophecies about Jesus in the Old Testament)

These show that He is the Messiah, who will fulfill the rest of biblical prophecy as shown in these (and many other) verses:

Revelation 10:7 but in the days of the seventh angel when he is about to sound then the mystery of God is finished, as He preached to His servants the prophets

Revelation 11:15 Then the seventh angel sounded; and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdom of this world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ; and He will reign forever and every."

Revelation 12:5 And she gave birth to a son, a male child, who is to rule the nations with a rod of iron; and her child was caught up to God and to His throne.

There are many prophecies that Jesus has already fulfilled

with 100% accuracy) and many more to come.

For more information about this check out this web site:

Study and read the bible for yourself as well. Ask God for wisdom.

"But from there you will seek the Lord you God, and you find Him if you search for Him with all your heart and all your soul."

    Deuteronomy 4:29

"The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance." 2 Peter 3:9

First, that's major to understand the word "Messiah" takes on different meanings contained in the Bible and fairly in Judaism on the time. From reading the former testomony, the Jews had a covenant with God that David's Thrown/ dynasty ought to always very last. God promised the Jews that a Messiah ought to come shortly after David and Solomon's days of ruling and that this messiah ought to steer on them to international peace. The Jews then had similar to the Messiah as a political discern, a intense King who ought to conquer lands and defeat enemies. the recent testomony even with the actuality that introduces a thoroughly different view of "Messiah" Jesus Christ. so that you observe, Jesus wasn't a political discern. as a matter of actuality he couldn't harm a fly. because of this the Jews denied him because their interpretation of Messiah replaced into different. even if the promise God had made in his covenant replaced into no longer meant in a literal sense. previous testomony Messiah interpretative via the Jews = Political discern New testomony Messiah shown via Mark, Matthew etc.. = Loving Son Of God I must have stated.. the reason the Jews denied Jesus replaced into because Rome took over Jewish pastime. And so the Jews were lower than The reign of Caligula i trust is the guy. This replaced into the Roman emperor on the time who ordered a statue of himself contained in the Temple. As you'll discover the Jews wanted their freedom decrease back. for this reason they could no longer see how Jesus ought to possibly be the Messiah promised via God via David's Covenant. such extremely some argue that God did not keep his promise to the Jews. even if the way Paul contemplated this replaced into "God did keep his promise, The Messiah will come back the second one time to fulfill his unfinished responsibilities" And on the time the Jews then were given their hopes up that Jesus ought to go back and this time he must be that political King or discern. it truly is how the idea of the second one coming of Christ replaced into presented up. I recommend you carry out somewhat reading or learn. i replaced into waiting to form all this without searching up sources. carry out somewhat study on early civilization.
