premiership against champions league?

Hi, i've just had an arguement with my fella about whats more important to win. i personally think winning champions league is better than winning the barclays premiership. It's lost all meaning to me since it's always won by rich boys and cheaters. But if u win champions league your beating the top teams in europe, doesn't that mean more? excuse mt ignorance but i am a girl ......

    Hi,

Difficult one. The thing is that because the premiership has been classed as the best league in the world, some may say that it is more prestigeous to win that comp. HOWEVER, I would say that to win the champions league is a greater acheivement.

As you rightly said, taking on the best Europe has to offer, and as you can see this season, Liverpool, Man U and Chelsea are all in there still. Could be in the making for a British Final.

I am sure some will disagree, but I for one prefer to watch Champions League games than Premiership. Also, I think that our teams play harder in the competition, therefore making it a more exciting competition.

The thing is that The champion's league is a cup. Anyone has a chance to to win it. The prem takes more consistency to win. Arsenal have have beat Man U twice in the prem, but look how far apart they are now. The champion's league is like the FA Cup or the League cup, a dice roll. Arsenal made the finals last season while finishing fourths, the prem is the hardest to win because you have to win week in week out not just get out of the group match and win 3 rounds and then the final. No matter how the quality of the other European teams are anyone can win on any given day.

The Champions' League is regarded as the more prestigious of the two, but as it is a cup competition anyone can win it by virtue of an opponent having an off day of by an element of luck, or a dodgy refereeing decision.

The Premiership, on the other hand, is a marathon and is won by the best team over 38 games.

It was different before 1992-93, when the old European Cup was contested by champions only.

The Champions and the UEFA are more exciting because they involve the best teams in Europe playing against each other. But what I like in the Barclays is towards the end of the year when the lower teams that are in danger of being relegated suddenly wake up and manage to beat almost anybody probably even the ones that win the champions if they happen to cross their path. I must admit that I like to see the poor underdogs beating the big rich clubs.

Winning the champions league is being the best team in the continent! However winning the league shows how good a club is over 9 months or so. Bottom line is Liverpool for Champions League, Chelski for League!

  • well yes u beat the top teams in Europe wen u win the champions league

but if u win the premiership it means u can win through consistency

personally i would like man u to win the premiership and the champions league would be added bonus

for me winning the champions league is more important because the teams are pitting themselves against the best teams in europe, also there is alot of money to be earned by winning it which will help the team become better the next year and attract better players, liverpool for champions league, although liverpool seem to have respect for both of them since they have won them both more than any other team in england

You have every right to argue with you buddy...When your playing in the Champions league your not only playing against the best in your league but the top teams in the top leagues...TO ME winning the Champions is more important..Its a much more prestige trophy..You play against the best of the best..GOOD ARGUEMENT

in as much as winning the CL makes you the "best" club in europe, i think the premiership is more important because a fluke can win u a CL trophy but u have to be playing well through out to win the prem. and besides, the prem is the best league in europe...so effectively, if u win it u are the true champions of europe!!

Champions League is the most important after the world cup and if you win then it's just a memory and glory day for the team. Winning the Serie A is more important than premiership and La Liga because all great players play in serie A and all great teams are in Serie A so it can't get better than that.
