Why is the Queen's Birthday Holiday not on her actual Birthday?

    it is the birthday of an earlier monarch ... and it was easier to maintain that as the day of celebration than change it each time there is a new King or Queen.

    The Queen's (King's ) Birthday is recognised by having the

    Trooping of the Colours. In previous years, Edward's time I think, it was usual for it to be pelting down with rain so he had the Birthday and the Trooping Ceremony changed to June, which is of course, summertime
