Why have all the U S school shootings been at PUBLIC schools and not in 1 private school?

If you check out wikipedias list of incidents it starts in the 1790s and lists the V Tech as most recent. What is the reason for public vs private in the U S .I do not want tirades on gun control,as other countires also have this problem and it is also public schools only,to the best of my memory.

I think it's because private schools take bullying seriously.

My friends son is in a private school in California and one day her son jokingly make a comment about a fellow students sneakers.

The teacher over heard the comment and made him visit the principals office and there he was told that bullying and rude comments aimed at fellow students would not be tolerated, even in jest.

Perhaps if public schools took little things like the above example seriously too instead of assuming it will build character, then the more tragic events of Monday might not happen.

Of course in the end of the day anyone with a mental disorder can snap whether they are in a private or public school, I just think it's easier to snap in a setting where jesting and belittling is thought to be harmless.

Well simply because people who go to public schools tend to separate themselves naturally like any other public thing. This causes they same problems that the US public has. Also private schools usually have students who really want to learn and get and education because their parents are paying for it. Private schools in general have students who are looking for success.

    Private schools are exclusive

PS: It was not an Amish School student that did the shooting at the Amish school

PS:If you ban all guns the only criminals will have guns. Sounds obvious but realy thinkg about the reality of it.

Could it be that private schools are private property and THEY can authorize people to carry guns on campus? Or could it be as soon as a student acts like a nut case, the private school kicks him out?

there isnt much incentive for the schools to change because its guaranteed money no matter what parents say or do...the money still flows from the public. they are breeding grounds for violent and troublesome behavior...and they have been that way for an awful long time.

What about the Amish School? That's not exactly what I would call "public".

I think it may have happened at private schools but they have paid hush money to keep it quiet.

The bottom line is....ban all guns

Good question...I could think of lots of answers, but they are probably wrong....Maybe it is easier to get problems solved early when you have more resources at your disposal...
