Can "into ever" be considered an oxymoron?

Where "ever" means "forever". It appears in this part of a poem:

... And knew he'd escaped for ever

Into the smell of old chrysanthemums on Her desk

Into the silent noise his hangnail made

Into the air outside the window, *into ever*

I know "silent noise" is an oxymoron but can "into ever" be one too?

Update:

but I thought that since it's literally impossible to "go into forever" it could be an oxymoron? If not, then what type of figure of speech would this be called? Thanks.

no, "into ever" the way you have described is not an oxymoron. "into" means to go inside. "ever" (meaning forever like you said) means... well, forever. so yes it is possible to go into forever. so no it is not an oxymoron.

    hope this helped.

No, a oxymoron is a paradox reduced to two words, usually in an adjective-noun ("eloquent silence") or adverb-adjective ("inertly strong") relationship, and is used for effect, to emphasize contrasts, incongruities, hypocrisy, or simply the complex nature of reality. Examples: Microsoft Works, wise fool, ignorantly learned, laughing sadness, pious hate.
