I think you are always going to get this as it is their jobs. However knowing your story Anders of how you were forced to retire because of death threats and the pressure you were under I see your point. However I think referees deserve the absolute upmost respect and coaches should not critise them as their job is so hard and at the end of the day the game couldn't go ahead without the referees. Good on you for coming to Irealnad too to promote refereeing. I have to say I was disappointed you retired as you were on the verge of becomming one of the great referees. Up there with the mighty Collina!!!!!!!!!

Of course they should be allowed to manipulate the media to build match atmosphere. The media has had a major hand in turning football into the global entertainment industry that it currently is.

Without it, stories wouldn't be run about players and teams and only proper football fans would care about it. The media can make or break a teams reputation so why should the coaches not be allowed to try to influence this.

That is a very good question. i think questioning the integrity of the referee after the 1st leg of a cup match is wrong as it puts added pressure and scrutiny on a hard job and sometimes people study the referee’s decisions more than the tactics – which is crazy. Most managers use a referee’s performance as an excuse for a bad result several times in a season, but I have yet to hear a manager come to the press and say “I got my tactics completely wrong and made poor decisions” or “the other guy was better than me on the day”.

That said, I don’t think that we should or can ban players or managers from giving interviews and I do think that referees should be accountable for bad decisions. If an incorrect penalty decision caused a team to get relegated, well in business that kind of incompetence would get you the sack. So referees need to have that sort of accountability and I think it would help the relationship between UEFA, the National FA and the League Managers if that were in place.

Atmosphere is very important, and I think they should be allowed to comment on their squad and the results of previous encounters, but with some managers in the Premiership the interviews before and after games is getting similar to those seen on American wrestling programs and that is just farcical. I think there should be a code of conduct that each manager signs up to that is not decided by UEFA or the national FA. They are adults, let them regulate themselves and hold each other accountable by the standards and respect they want.

yes they should be allowed to, its all a part of the mental battles between the two teams, and as u know if u win the mental battle before the match starts, u would have a GREAT advantage over ur opposotion team!

Mourinho is a great example of that! He always tries to defeat the opposition team mentally before their meeting on the pitch, its all a part of the game, its a kind of tactic, and as we can see its working!

An clear example is when Mourinho built the atmosphere he wanted for the Barca vs Chelsea match when u(Anders Frisk) where in charge!!

As a leader of an entire team, the amount of stress that is played on the coach is unmeasurable.To say and spectulate his easy,but to manage is hard.The coach is involve in so many issues about the team players's welfare transfers, tatics selectionsprssure from the board as well as taunting from the oppsition team.Such is the situation today

To certain extent; not allowing something like that is akin to banning freedom of speech. The burden is more on the press, media, for what they cover and in the manner in which they cover it. Perhaps, it would be more appropriate to say that the press ought to not allow themselves to be manipulated by football coaches.

For a coach to talk up his own team is fine, and perfectly within reason. Going beyond that is probably irresponsible of the coach. Again, I want to see Football players playing Football, not coaches. Limiting the amount of coverage given them would be nice; but still it has to be a choice of the media, and responsible coaching, rather than a banning. Kick them off, if they interfere in the game itself, and have the officials actually be listened to and respected, and be respectable.

I do think, that in certain instances, rallying up fans, has contributed to a dangerous atmosphere, particular in international football matches. Perhaps different rules could apply to international tournaments, where such media manipulation, and therefore fan manipulation, build up frenzied emotions. It may result in less danger to players and fans. Again, it comes down to respecting others, rather than contributing or being part of hatred.

It's great fun watching managers attempt to wind each other up before matches- 2 recent examples being Jose and Rafa Benitez before the Champions league match, which was just petty bickering, like most things that involve Jose Mourinho.

Another example was Alan Curbishley and Neil Warnock prior to the West Ham vs Sheff. Utd relegation clash, where both managers tried to pass the importance and the pressure to the other team. Here, it shouldn't be done.

A sincere game, with MILLIONS riding on it should not be influenced by the media, when talking about the pressure. Bickering between managers, on who's better is just petty talk, and they both know it.

I think Conflict between managers in Football is just trying to wind the other one up. If a rival manager is too childish, and unprofessional to take the talk, and get on with the match, the press deserve to get involved. Both teams should be professional enough to get on with the game with or without media talk.

It's entertaining for us, frustrating for the players. But they've got to get on with it. They get paid enough.

This is to enhance the excitement to elevate the atmosphere in which the players will put in peak performance.

Moreover, it is through the execution of various play techniques through team work that they can display their power in the game.

It is important to create the winning of the game through either individual players or as a team in boisterous atmosphere that they are able to creat e an identity of their football clubs.

Football coaches have the experience and know-how to asset a certain momentum in the plays to uplift it to a higher level to a World standard. Hence, I maintain the proposition.

Yes definitely, there's nothing matter with stirring things up a little before the match to give it that extra atmosphere. That's what football is all about. There is nothing more exciting than a football game with a little bit of friction between teams. All adds to the spice.
