He probably didn't think you were that interested so he felt he had to step his game up. Or maybe you DID something to him to make him feel that you deserve something special like a reward ;-) Either way, sounds like he really likes you because guys do not go out of their way to do "nice" things for girls unless they really like them. And who cares about the L word. What's more important is RESPECT and FRIENDSHIP. Sounds like you have a good one. If you don't know what to think you probably are not ready to be that serious b/c it's obvious that everyone else thinks he really likes you. If you don't feel the same just be honest with him but you must first be honest with yourself. I know it sounds silly but really ask yourself: What do you think about that? How do you feel about that? And then you'll know the honest truth--no sugarcoat.

How do you feel about him? It may be out of character but is it in a good or bad way to you? Also you should take into consideration of the significance of the occassion, how did the event lead up to that moment? Was it meant to be a romantic evening or did it come out of nowhere?

He could have realized how much you mean to him and this could signify that the intensity of your relationship has gone up, maybe not into the love category, but in that ball park.

If it does mean that he loves you, how do you feel about that, and dont try to do anything rash if you are scared - wait and see what will follow.

Some men are bad about how to show feelings. The first date I went on with one girlfriend was one where I barely looked her in the eye all evening. Some things just take time. I think he is indirectly trying to tell you how he may feel about you. Don't do anything different than normal. The more you try to draw him out, the more he may pull away. Enjoy the moment, you may not see it too often, but if it happened once, who's to say it won't happen again.
