I have the same problem. I recently found out that I have leaky valves in some of my leg veins. I purchased a treadmill and have been using it for about four months now. It gives a good workout and gets the blood flowing. It helps the calves especially if you get one that has an incline. I also had a stationary bike, but in my opinion, the treadmill is much better for the legs and circulation. Also, the bike made my butt really hurt! :)

If you don't want to buy an expensive machine, I could recommend a great program or two!

My leg circulation has improved dramatically by working out and eating clean. Stretching the large leg muscles is also supposed to help. I haven't had the throbbing in my legs from the varicose veins that are starting since I have started exercising 4-6 times a week.

Have you been examined by a doctor, and had your pulses checked? Oftentimes, poor circulation is caused by blockage in the main arteries, or the aorta, and can cause the toes to turn black and possibly gangrene. Walking would be best for you, however, if you are unable to walk very far, or you get bad pain in your hips after walking a short distance, then you should really been seen by the doc. Mom just went through this, had a procedure done and had improved circulation before leaving the hospital. Good luck.

Either a bike or elliptical machine or treadmill should do it.
